Now using science to figure out something as subjective as a \u201cfeel-good\u201d song can be tricky, but it doesn\u2019t mean it can\u2019t be done!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Out of the survey came songs like ABBA\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Dancing Queen<\/em>, The Beach Boys\u2019&nbsp;<em>Good Vibrations<\/em>&nbsp;and Billy Joel\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Uptown Girl,&nbsp;<\/em>but the top song wasn\u2019t Pharrell\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Happy.&nbsp;<\/em>Its actually from the band Queen and it was one of their hits from 1979<strong>\u2013<em>Don\u2019t Stop Me Now<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You weren\u2019t expecting that I bet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember though that the study was conducted in the UK and the Queen chart topping hit was at least in the top 10, unlike the US where it just broke the top 100. This doesn\u2019t stop it&nbsp;though from still being an awesome song. The song with a positive message and a cheery Broadwayish feel, has over 100 million views on YouTube and counting!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Cognitive Neuroscienist, Dr. Jacob Jolij, analyzed the results and said there were three important key factors that made it a \u201cfeel-good\u201d song:&nbsp;\u201cSongs written in a major key, with a fast tempo are best at inducing positive emotions. \u201d&nbsp;wrote&nbsp;Dr. Jolij in an email to the Huffington Post. According to Dr. Jolij \u201cvirtually all \u2018feel good\u2019 songs were in major key (save one or two), and all of them were at least 10BPM faster than the average pop song.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So there you have it scientifically what makes these songs make you feel so very good.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>British electronics manufacturer, Alba, surveyed 2,000 UK adults about what their favorite feel-good songs were.
